I received a fresh notebook for school... And I have a strange yet impressive concept I’d like to explore. Can I connect an external HDD and install various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Hackintosh, whatever you think) so I can switch between them easily? I don’t mind going into the BIOS and picking the OS that suits me best. The bootloader should be on the external drive itself, not on the notebook. Why would I ask? Because I’m feeling a bit bored right now...

Using any system will be challenging because of bootloader behavior and driver issues. With a VM, the performance effect is minimal—just about a 3% reduction.

I believed it would be simple, but the setup wasn't going to be that smooth. The Hackintosh configuration didn't quite work as expected, especially on the virtual machine or my own setup. Getting past the login was particularly frustrating.
