Hello everyone,
I recently set up a new system...
It includes an Asus Z790 Maximus Dark Hero with an Intel Core i9-14900KF at 3.20 GHz, an Asus Strix 4090 OC, 48GB DDR5 7200, and a 1500w Platinum PSU.
Everything worked smoothly and effortlessly. Unfortunately, I’m experiencing significant lag spikes while gaming. In window mode, my CPU usage stays between 3 to 6% max. Is this typical?
I previously had an i9-12900k but upgraded because my old motherboard was failing. I expected better performance, but it’s actually running worse than before. The CPU idles at 45°C.
Windows is fully updated, and the BIOS is current.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have the FPS counter turned on? It might be because you're syncing with your monitor's refresh rate, which could be 60MHz, even though your monitor supports higher refresh rates; you need to enable that first.
