I own roughly 150 hours of the game and didn’t play it much, so I removed it. After about 3 to 4 months I reinstalled Windows and since then I can’t play it anymore. When I launch it via shortcut or from the Steam library, the "Preparing to launch Payday 2..." window appears and closes quickly—about 1 to 2 seconds—and my Steam status switches from "Online" to "Playing PAYDAY 2" and back again. I’ve checked the files, deleted the "appchache" folder in Steam, updated Windows and drivers, reinstalled the game, and even reinstalled Windows again, but nothing worked. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be related to my PC, the game itself, or Steam? If someone has a fix, please share so I can help others too!

Review C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\PAYDAY 2. Look at crashlog.txt and/or crash.txt for clues about the issue.

I noticed some Steam discussions mentioning a Payday 2 folder, though it doesn't appear in the Local directory.

I also added my Steam account and configured the Steam folder on the D drive. Windows is now set to run in C. I just removed PD2 and started downloading it on the C drive—it could fix the issue.
