You're not very familiar with overclocking, but I understand you're asking about the Ryzen 5 2600X. Is this accurate?
It's important to know whether enabling MSI Game Boost in BIOS is safe.
Using MSI Afterburner to boost core and memory clocks is still possible, though caution is advised.

It's not true, you CAN overclock with 2600X. It's just not recommended because you can get better results with PBO.... Precision Boost Overdrive.
You can try turning Game Boost on. Make sure all other parameters are set to default.
I don't know that it's safe to use MSI Afterburner to overclock a Ryzen processor; actually though I didn't know it did. Still, AMD's RyzenMaster does it very reliably and there's really no good reason to use anything else... except...

It's a myth, you're wrong about overclocking with 2600X. It's not advised since PBO gives better outcomes. Precision Boost Overdrive is the better choice. You might want to enable Game Boost and keep other settings at defaults. I'm unsure if MSI Afterburner is safe for Ryzen processors, though I did find out it works. AMD's RyzenMaster is reliable, but BIOS changes can be risky—especially if you tweak them in Windows.

Hey there. I’m checking out RyzenMaster for CPU overclocking. From MSI’s side, it seems they focus on the GPU. If RyzenMaster handles both, I’ll skip MSI’s Afterburner.
