Pay attention, since there are numerous temperature threads here and I’m still confused, especially with AMD.
I own a 9800X3D paired with AIO BeQuiet Light Loop 360. In idle the temperature rises to 50C. Under load with Cinebench R23 it climbs to 70C. During idle the pump spins at around 2300RPM and the radiator fans near 800RPM. When under load (over 75C) the pump reaches 2900RPM, while the AiO fans spin about 2100RPM.
I’m referring specifically to the CPU package temperature. Notably, in idle the cores sit between 35-36°C, but during load they hit the same high levels as the package. Is this typical? In Intel’s lineup it was much clearer.
Ryzen Master lists 54C in idle... HWInfo doesn’t record such a value. With Curve Optimizer set to -20, under load Ryzen Master shows a peak of 65C when HWinfo hits 69C. I experience similar readings during stability tests with Aida 64.
OCCT testing in Extreme mode reaches 84C, and performance checks in AIDA 64 hit peaks at 92C (only during peaks). Are these figures accurate? The room temperature is around 25°C.
Certainly there are no performance or stability issues. The main concern is that on the i9-9900KS (not among the cooler models) I saw idle temps below or near 40°C, and AiO 360 from BQ as well. AMD’s package temperatures seem similar here, though it still makes me question the reliability of these sensors.
The AIO is positioned within your chassis in a specific way. You might try taking out the front fascia to check if temperatures vary. If temperatures decrease, it suggests the intake to your case is being blocked. Then, using Ryzen Master, you can adjust the voltages to undervolt the processor.
Its not an air flow issue.
AiO mounted on top, pump with 8mm offset. Its undervolted as I said earlier. But undervolt is only under load.
Temps under load looks ok in my opinion. I wonder why differences between CPU package and cores are so high (in idle 50C vs 36C). Many sources claims thats normal with AMD CPUs.
Wow, everything looks identical in terms of CPU, cooler, and temperatures. My idle temps are around 50°C for the Tctl/Tdie and Die, while core temps sit between 26-27°C. When under load, with a -20 CO I'm reaching about 69°C for Cinebench R23 and 64°C for 2024. The OCCT Extreme temps are also at 85°C. It’s puzzling how the die and IOD hotspots are nearly double the core temperatures despite this cooler. I’m also using Arctic MX-6 thermal paste. My pump is spinning at 2,740 RPM, which seems to be the maximum, not 2900 RPM, and it stays locked at that speed even with a fan curve. I have three side intake fans, one rear exhaust, and the top-mounted CPU radiator fans acting as exhaust (basically negative pressure). I’m also wondering why our CPU die/IOD hotspot temps are significantly higher than core temps during idle. Everything seems normal under load, which is strange.

Your bottom fans are positioned incorrectly.
Turn them around to the correct intake position.
The bottom fan in an upright setup isn't required at all. Remove it.
Consider the airflow direction.
If bottom fans are meant for air intake, placing them upright will push the air out right away.
Air from the bottom intakes won't cool anything if it's expelled immediately.
