Hello everyone, I'm seeking a second view on RAM upgrades. I'm using two 8 GB 3200 MHz CL16 Corsair Vengeance modules with my 5800X3D graphics card. Should switching to a 2 x 16 GB 3600 MHz CL16 kit be beneficial for higher frequency and dual-rank memory? Would the existing RAM still provide strong performance if I upgrade my GPU later for high FPS 2K or 4K gaming?
Uncertain about the 16GB Corsair modules—my experience was two years ago, and I’ve heard they no longer support dual ranks. It feels like a risky decision.
The key reason to move up to 3600 is to achieve 1:1:1 performance. After initial testing on a 3200 system, I optimized settings by enabling XMP and adjusting the FCLCK value to 1800, which improved my benchmarks noticeably. Would you consider this upgrade? With a 5800X3D, it definitely makes sense for most 5000 CPUs. The performance boost is quite noticeable, honestly. I’m convinced it’s worth it. However, I intend to maintain my 5000 series setup for at least three more years, possibly longer.
Many believe B-Die isn't worth the effort, yet they question why their results fall short compared to other reviews.
There’s a Kingston remanufactured kit 3600 cl16 with dual rank, using DJR memory modules. It was suggested by Ronathon on the forum, and I’m planning to upgrade from the cl16 3200 as well.
The main reason to upgrade would be to obtain a Samsung B-die. You should focus on 2x16GB if you aim for 32GB since four sticks are more challenging to configure. On the B-die you typically find 3600 CL14. I own Patriot Viper Steels (b die) with 4x8Gb, which is great because it supports 3600MHz CL14-14-14-28. If you had a 2x16GB package, many users could reach 3800Mhz CL14 or even 4000Mhz CL14. I also purchased one on eBay.
