Hello!
I'm just starting out with overclocking and wanted some advice on the temperature. Here are my specs:
i7-6700k (at 4.5ghz)
CM Hyper 212 EVO
ASUS Z170A
16 GB AVXIR DDR4-2400
GTX 1060 6B
Two 120mm NZXT case fans at top & bottom for exhaust
Two 140mm NZXT case fans in front
I ran AIDA64, stressing CPU, FPU, Cache, System Memory & GPU for about an hour.
Temperatures averaged around 61-65°C per core, with peaks up to 75-80°C.
I'm currently doing a manual overclock with SVID turned off at 1.28v.
I was wondering if these temps were safe, especially since I mainly use the PC for gaming and video editing. Appreciate any guidance!

It would be safe, though there wouldn't be space for further character development.

When you mention I won't have room for further OC, it's likely due to either my voltage or temperature. I'm experimenting with lower voltages to manage the temperature, but it stopped working after 35 minutes on AIDA64 at 1.25v. After resetting it to 1.265v, it started again. I managed to play Witcher 3 at Ultra Settings where temperatures peaked at 74°C, though I haven't pushed it in AIDA or RealBench yet.

It's currently warm, and as you ascend higher the chance of needing to boost voltage increases while temperature rises. Keeping anything below 90°C is ideal, but I recommend staying under 80°C since the weather may become hotter, causing your room temperature to rise and further elevating CPU temperatures. Therefore, maintaining a temperature of 80°C or less should be the goal if the room temperature measured at 20°C or lower.
