Checking GTX 1070 performance with x4 PCIe lanes
I checked GPU-z to investigate my card's status and noticed it was using PCIe x16 3.0 at x4 3.0. I assumed this was because the GPU wasn't active, so I ran Heaven Benchmark. It stayed at x4, and I reopened GPU-z during the test to confirm. I’m not sure how much slower it is, but it seems significant. The manual didn’t mention using an NVMe drive for the GPU’s PCIe lanes, though it’s possible. Can I adjust it back to x16?
PC Specs:
- GPU in Upper PCIe Slot
- MOBO - Asus Prime Z370-p II CPU
- Intel 8700k GPU
- GTX 1070 16GB RAM (single stick)
- Three data drives total: 1x SATA SSD, 1x SATA HDD, 1x NVMe SSD
I considered a similar approach using x8, but x4 is giving me trouble. I’m not very familiar with Heaven scores, though I did run the benchmark and shared the data.

Was die Installation korrekt durchgeführt? Ich hatte eine AIC NVME SSD in einer Spurung von einem Lane, weil sie nicht richtig befestigt war, ist der PCIE-Schlosser geschlossen?
