Hello everyone, I recently bought the x99 Deluxe board along with a copy of Deamon Tools Pro on the CD. It turned out Deamon Tools included malware, and it infected my PC immediately after Windows was installed. This situation was quite frustrating. How can I ensure my system is completely safe and free from any malware or viruses? Best regards and thanks!

These tools were once reliable. I made the same error a few years back too. They just aren't trustworthy. Start with malwarebytes and then use adw cleaner. Visit the site at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/. You'll also need to clear plugins from your browsers, such as search conduit.

Lol, need to upgrade my computer... or should I reset it? That situation turned things around the other way.

I had a comparable situation, so I cleared the hard drive and began over. Since it was a fresh drive with no other files, it was the fastest and simplest option.

If you just set it up and it gives you concerns, the quickest way is to erase it without losing anything.

I completed the "fo-sho" 100%, then chose the "eh good enough" option.

I recognize that resetting the drive to its original settings would suffice, though I was aiming for a workaround since I’d need to repeat the process. It seems Malwarebytes has resolved the problem, and based on my understanding, it isn’t meant to replace an antivirus program.

Sure, just to clarify, I’m not suggesting you skip virus protection unless you’re very experienced and trustworthy. Windows Defender or similar tools perform well.
