Hey there, I can't locate that conversation here. What are your thoughts on recommendations for upgrading from an HDD to an SSD on a Windows-only setup? Should you clone the old drive or perform a clean install? I’d lean toward a clean install since it ensures no leftover software or malware.

The system doesn't allow running an SSD with a traditional HDD because of compatibility and performance issues.

You're able... likely should. I'm guessing the Windows executables are stored on the SSD.

You should consider installing the operating system on the SSD while retaining your data on the hard drive. This is likely the standard approach.

A fresh setup is advised here. Cloning the hard drive might prevent the SSD from using TRIM features. For details about TRIM and its purpose, watch this video.
