Hey there. I noticed a problem with my RAM. I installed two 8GB sticks, both 2666MHz. On the first day, the BIOS reported 1300MHz, which seems normal since it only shows the actual speed, not doubled. Now it’s showing 800MHz, and overclocking is no longer possible. The PC crashes during overclock attempts or even when using MSI XMP. I’m using the latest BIOS, but benchmarking shows poor performance—8% and crash warnings. Any advice would be super helpful!

Consider increasing the memory voltage to 1.4V. It seems the sticks might be defective.

This low-frequency budget memory performs poorly on these chips. The connectors might work, but the board and ICs are clearly struggling. I'm using a Corsair Vengeance LED with my 2700x and achieving DOCP/XMP speeds with just one stick. Two sticks give terrible response—no posts and boots in safe mode. Overclocking is a nightmare. Even at 15/16 MHz, the SK-Hynix chip won't reach 3200mhz even with 1.410V and a single stick. It's frustrating.

Intel and Z390 models are unusual, but first-gen Ryzen can handle 2666MHz smoothly following recent improvements.

The standard voltage is set at 1.2V in auto mode. Using 1.4V might damage the sticks. You've managed to reach 2133Mhz, but going above that risks boot failure. I'm checking if raising it to 1.4V is safe.

1.4V helps check the quality of the sticks. The XMP profile for all 3000MHz+ CL16 kits is already at 1.35V, so 1.4V isn’t that high. If it works, you can lower the voltage and retest.
