Hey everyone! I own an HP Omen 30l (Desktop) with an i7-11700K and a 3080. Initially, I ran Windows with all the original HP software and used ThrottleStop to lower the voltage for better cooling. Now, switching to Windows 11 caused my CPU temps to rise to 80–100°C while power consumption jumped to 80–230W. After formatting and doing a clean install, stability has dropped significantly. The heat is increasing further because of the higher temperatures. Any suggestions on how to restore the performance I had before? Thanks!

Windows 11 could introduce a patch that restricts CPU voltage management. Review the FIVR monitoring table to confirm your voltages are still active. Share ThrottleStop images if assistance is required.

I’m beginning to consider this now, before HP restricted something... not sure. After formatting all parts and using as much power as needed, I noticed the CPU usage stayed around 60 to 80% during the test. Last night it was between 80 to 160W, and this morning it reached 112W with temperatures at 60°C. No reason for concern—just hoping it stays stable. I’m sharing my ThrottleStop results so you can see what’s happening. Hope this clears things up!

Reviewing the Speed Shift - EPP box on the main display and adjusting EPP to 120 might affect optimal performance. What’s your intention? I prefer letting Windows handle the EPP configuration. If this option isn’t selected, Windows typically assigns EPP values of 0 for the Windows High Performance plan and 84 for the Balanced plan. To conserve power during light usage, activate C states in the BIOS. Please share a screenshot of the TPL window. Power consumption can vary widely based on turbo power limits you configure. I set both PL1 and PL2 limits to their maximum values so they don’t disrupt CPU performance. Additionally, I secure MMIO power restrictions.

I recall studying with this box, but I didn’t bother to verify afterward. Thanks for the tip! I’m sharing the TPL here (no changes made). However, if you limit power usage, it might affect your CPU performance. The Omen 30L + Simple CoolerMaster AIO 120mm can’t handle such high power (250W) well. Maybe adjusting settings will improve stability when switching cases and AIOs?
