CPU Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU gigabyte RTX 2080
MOBO mag b550 tomahawk
RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB
My friend provided me with a Dominator Platinum 64GB featuring 3600MHz RAM, originally I had 16GB at 3000MHz.
I’m receiving a warning in the event viewer.
A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor CoreError Source: Corrected Machine CheckError Type: Bus/Interconnect Error Processor APIC ID: 0
The warning appears every minute, likely because I’m playing games and generate hundreds of alerts.
I’ve heard it might be related to RAM and I don’t want to disable XMP.
I ran a diagnostic tool and everything seems fine.
Cinebench scored me at average for my CPU, and 3DMark is performing well.
I haven’t updated the BIOS; the latest build is from 2020, with the most recent version being 2025.
I’m unsure if my PC is running optimally or functioning properly.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I’ve never updated bios or anything—your build is from 2020 and the latest is 2025.
What BIOS version are you using for your motherboard?
RAM- Corsair dominator platinum 64gb
Do you have a link to that RAM kit?
My friend shared his dominator platinum 64gb with 3600mhz RAM; I had 16gb at 3000mhz, I believe.
Make sure you’re checking the correct BIOS version before installing the newer RAM. Incorrect information might cause trouble during troubleshooting.

There is a discussion on Toms about a resolved hardware issue. Two power cycles were recorded as kernel power errors during an hour, with clean restarts and no BSOD. Recent intermittent BSOD problems persist, but components were replaced on 14/01/2021. Forums. suggests disabling XMP and adjusting timings manually via UEFI.

To confirm, are you referring to the motherboard you mentioned:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B550-TOMAHAWK
If so, please ensure the chipset driver is updated to the latest version. You may need to reinstall it if uncertain. After that, update the BIOS to 7C91vAK1 (beta), then reset the CMOS once you confirm the BIOS update was successful.
