Upgrading to newer models since I need improved speed for video editing and coding tasks at school. The i3 10100f and gigabyte b460m d3h are better suited for these requirements.
At that cost, you could swap in an i5 10400 or even higher-end chips, and maybe go for an i7. Their graphics would handle video rendering well, matching Zen2 performance. They’re still decent until you move to a more powerful platform. An i7 would offer more processing power than the Ryzen 5.
I wouldn't spend more on the i7 than upgrading to the 5600, and I won't be able to fully utilize the 10700 with my motherboard. I'll go with the 5600 instead.
