I can't see the issue because the thermal paste isn't visible. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems, though. Someone else might notice it too, but I'm not sure.

Start with a clean first lid. Use your thumbnail to remove any residue from the CPU PCB. Get Permatex ultra black silicon from an auto store. Reapply thermal paste beneath the IHS plate (try MX4 or similar). Spread TIM evenly across the die. Apply a thin layer of glue only at the edge of the IHS plate that contacts the PCB. Secure the CPU in place with the heatsink, ensuring it stays firmly attached to the core. Use cation for the heatsink so the IHS plate remains stationary. The adhesive sets within an hour and hardens completely in 24 hours. You can continue working while setting up; aim for temperatures after 24-48 hours is ideal. Before proceeding, verify all pins are secure.

You placed the plastic card at the gap in the black adhesive and pushed it out. The amount of thermal paste used seems excessive.
