All my searches kept returning guides about assigning letters to partitions or preventing automatic mounting. I’m not interested in those methods; I just need to stop a specific letter from getting assigned to any drive automatically.
It's clear I've noticed the letters C through G will be used except for F. Because I rely heavily on removable flash drives, I want to prevent them from being linked to F among my internal storage. I understand I can make that change, but I don't have a drive assigned to F at the moment.
It’s worth noting the configuration where C-G is enabled while F remains disabled. This setup seems unusual, as adjusting it to include C-F would likely be more straightforward. Unassigned drives beginning at G could offer flexibility but might require careful planning.
They work as intended for their specific purposes, like in my games or drives.
A quirky approach would be to employ the subst command to attach a local directory to F: this way it gets recognized. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/window...ands/subst
