I added my Ryzen 3600 stock cooler to the CPU using the motherboard case. The large metal plate on the back of the case shifted slightly during installation, causing me to press too firmly on the cooler. This might have pressed down on the CPU’s top, but I’m not sure it would damage it. I’m asking just in case I don’t have a GPU yet to verify the system still functions properly.
It’s unlikely you succeeded by only forcing the CPU. The device is built to handle significant pressure from the cooling mechanism.
