Among the 9 holes on my mainboard, only seven had screws and this issue had persisted for a while. I wondered if I had installed the board correctly, so I looked up on YouTube and discovered a video about motherboard standoffs. It explained how improper seating could lead to short circuits. Using a Corsair Graphite 760T, I noticed the blue circle marked where a screw wasn’t attached, while the red circle showed no standoff screws and was empty. The casing included a single standoff screw along with others. While mounting, I struggled to align everything and found gaps in the I/O shield that raised concerns. Every time I tried to secure the board, one screw was missing near the red circle. Should the standoff screw come with the casing and attach to the red-marked spot? Also, could a short circuit cause the PC to crash? I had seen some crashes and was curious if this might be the cause.

Ensure a standby exists at every mobile screw hole for installation, while omitting any holes where no screw is present to prevent short circuits. That’s the essential requirement.
