Hello everyone, after nearly a decade, I assembled a new PC and am unsure what to expect from it. Could you let me know if anything seems off or if everything is functioning properly? Here are the details:
- CPU: AMD 7800X3D
- GPU: Gigabyte 4080 Super OC (maximum power and temperature limits reached in MSI Afterburner)
- Cooler: Arctic Freezer III 360 AIO Maiboard
- Motherboard: MSI B650 Tomahawk
- RAM: 2x 32GB Kingston FURY Beast DDR5-6000 (Expo profile 1 enabled; I set it to 5800MHz because Windows would sometimes fail to start after sleep mode. It still behaves oddly—some programs won’t launch.)
- Before testing: CPU idle at 50°C, GPU idle at 40°C. After launching Cinebench R23 and Furmark 2.4.0, room temperature stayed between 23-25°C. After an hour, CPU reached 85.3°C, GPU 77°C. Scores: Cinebench 15911, 3DMark 18273, Time Spy score 28216, CPU 12671.
In a game like Warhammer Space Marines 2, I usually see 100-120 FPS at full settings without DLSS on 1440p. Is everything working as expected? The HWInfo reported a red warning for the CPU temperature.
I believe 120fps is the maximum the game engine can handle in Space Marines 2, which seems solid. If we compare the Cinebench and Port Royal scores at the same time, it indicates strong stability and consistent temperatures. For the Emperor!
Everything appears to function properly. Performance is stable on both the CPU and GPU.
Don't push your GPU beyond its limits. Standard configurations are usually sufficient for the games you play. Boosting it further isn't necessary and could shorten its lifespan.
