Sure, 2GB works for Lubuntu, but if you want a music player and more than three tabs open, you’ll face trouble from the memory pressure.

I plan to purchase a fresh computer soon, so I’m considering Windows 10 Embedded, Linux, or MS-DOS.

Using Linux is straightforward. Run commands in the terminal and follow instructions.

I could also consider older versions like Windows 8 or 8.1, since they have a nice appearance and the modern layout is impressive.

Based on my own trials, running Debian and Arch on an old laptop with a Celeron T1400 and just 2GB of RAM isn’t ideal.

Perhaps I'll give Lubuntu a shot.

the celeron is the main issue here. linux works fine with just 2gb of memory, as long as you don’t push it to its limit. a minimal distro needs around 500mb, leaving you with about 1.5gb—plenty for use. you definitely need to stay focused.

Absolutely refuse. It's intense. Why would you think otherwise?

You might want to use a USB flash drive for installation. Your laptop isn’t cooperating with booting from a USB.

It's quite an old machine, really—its weight is almost like a brick. I own a newer model with an i7, but I decided to try the old one just to see what it could do.
