I've struggled to reach over 45mbps with a 2.4ghz connection, and even at 5ghz my phone only hits 60mbps.

It's not unusual for fresh WiFi adapter drivers to significantly boost wireless speed. Windows 10 probably comes with updated, high-performing drivers right away for your device. I frequently notice substantial improvements in WiFi connectivity this way in Linux, particularly with newer or less common chips. When I assisted Comcast customers with special tech support, driver upgrades often more than tripled performance and greatly enhanced connection stability.

It might be an update for the driver, I'll need to look that up. Thanks.
