In short, your PC started working normally until you tried to restart. When it came back on, it kept showing an error asking to reboot and choose the right boot device. You restarted again and everything functioned, but the M.2 SSD still appeared in BIOS. You've tried several fixes—changing the CMOS battery, removing and reinserting the SSD—but nothing worked. I’m worried about possible damage to the motherboard or the SSD itself. Could you get some advice?

The issue is likely with the SSD, probably in the controller. The easiest check is to boot from another drive, such as a USB flash drive, and install Windows there.

I need to confirm using Windows 10 Home for your test setup if you're building it on a different functional machine. Windows 10 Pro includes safeguards to keep enterprise data secure by restricting installation to specific device IDs, preventing booting on mismatched hardware. Windows 10 Home lacks these restrictions, allowing drives to be freely exchanged between systems.
