Your setup looks solid for PC gaming. With a Ryzen 7 1700 OC, GTX 1080 Ti, and 16GB RAM, you're well-equipped. In Assassin's Creed Origins, achieving around 85fps at 1080p is quite good, especially on lower settings. That performance seems reasonable for your hardware.

Regarding your monitor, if you're seeing lower than 144Hz, it's usually better to keep the monitor at a lower refresh rate rather than forcing it to match higher FPS numbers. This helps avoid tearing and ensures smoother visuals. Adjusting the monitor settings to match your game's frame rate will give you a better experience.

I’d suggest sticking with the higher refresh rate. It improves smoothness a bit.

It seems you're expecting a 144Hz display with G-Sync, but it looks like the 1700 is limiting your options. They might not be ideal for fast-paced, high-refresh games.

AC Origins demands significant processing power. Also, what makes 85 FPS problematic? Asking the question.

I wasn't anticipating a steady 90fps or 100fps especially at lower resolutions. The fluctuations lead to stuttering and other issues when the monitor's refresh rate doesn't align with the game's frame rate. It might help to set the game and monitor to 60fps.

Use a 1080ti with low resolution settings. Lowering FPS can assist, but a 1440p G-SYNC monitor is recommended.
