Check your Ethernet setup and connections on the new PC build.
I recently installed a new PC and attempted to connect via Ethernet, but the network settings don’t show an Ethernet option. Everything appears powered on and the port lights up with Ethernet active, yet the cable works fine and Wi-Fi seems normal. Based on past forum discussions, one suggested updating the Ethernet drivers using a USB drive. I’m unsure how to proceed since my setup differs. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Motherboard: Asus Rog Strix Z690-E
CPU: Intel Core i9-12900k

Get the 3DPnet app on your phone or another computer, then set it up on your new PC. When you launch it, tap the orange Ethernet icon—it will automatically install the necessary internet drivers.
Get the motherboard chipset drivers directly from the maker of the board. They usually provide them on a CD with the device or via their website. You might need to connect another computer or use your phone as a hotspot to reach the site and download the necessary driver file.
You're facing a more significant issue than just the Ethernet driver being absent. Visit the Asus support page for your motherboard model, navigate to Downloads, and install the necessary drivers. Your motherboard is an Asus Rog Strix Z690-E, so use this link: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-st...k_download. Choose your operating system from the dropdown menu and download the LAN, Wireless, Chipset, Audio packages. Additionally, for Intel products, you can access their support tool at https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...etect.html. The scanner checks your Intel components (such as the Z690 chipset) and suggests updated drivers if needed.
I don’t own another computer, as I made this one because my previous one failed and I can’t find the app on my phone. I looked in the App Store (I have an iPhone). I also have a MacBook if it works? Otherwise I’ll have to ask someone else for a PC.
Typically you get the newest release (dates are listed on each item). Occasionally the newest is a beta or a very recent update meant to resolve issues that not all users face—like a graphics card driver fix for a new game, which might break other previously working features. Offering several choices lets you pick an older version if needed. You should be comfortable with the latest driver from each group.
