Check your current monitor setup for Skyrim SE Polaris performance.
I chose to install Skyrim SE on my RX480 setup and experienced poor frame rates around 40fps at 1080p. Fixing the issue involved turning off Vsync in the game settings, which stabilized the performance to about 60fps using AMD Radeon software. However, this led to noticeable screen tearing that was frustrating. Here are my options: 1) Accept the lower performance and enjoy smooth gameplay. 2) Turn on in-game Vsync and accept the slow speed. 3) Invest in a free sync monitor? What do you think? Or maybe I'm facing another problem and can't find a solution.
Choose a 1440p display with free sync. Freesync doesn’t cost extra, unlike g-sync.
That's exactly what I was considering. It seems Nvidia is charging a premium for Gsync functionality.
