Check your CPU temperatures to see if they are within the normal range.
Hello!
My CPU is an i7 960 from the first generation with a base clock of 3.2GHz. When idle, I get about 37-41c, and in games it's 50-64c.
I overclocked it to 4.0Ghz two weeks ago but it came back to normal after temperatures rose slightly. I'm curious if these temps are typical and if I can try overclocking again at 4Ghz. Thanks!
You should face no issues installing a 2x120 or 3x120 system on top of that case.
I didn't hear what they were, so I'd prefer to keep them below 70-75 under load.
I would prefer improved cooling options. Right now, I'm running a x5680 on my rampage 3 with a Corsair H100i against @4.2. My idle temps are about 27-30°C and load around 45-50°C using prime 95 or other stress tests. When playing games, I notice lower temperatures.
My cooling is currently using a liquid system, specifically an Alienware Aurora ALX water liquid cooler. I'm interested in switching to another cooler one day but don't have a specific recommendation right now.
I recommend a minimum of a 2x120 rad configuration similar to the Corsair H100i V2. Alternatively, a 2x140 or 3x120 setup would be even more suitable.
Sure, here are the overclocked temperatures. Please note, I'm following your advice to stay within a safe range.
Please share the overclocked temperatures. I understand you want to stay within a safe range, around 70-75°C during load, and I'll provide the details shortly.
