I don’t recall the exact chip model, but there’s a rumor it might have launched with DDR3 support since it uses RAM that works with that standard. It seems DDR4 wasn’t a priority, so it likely supports DDR3 as well.

If the contacts aren't touching in the slot .. but I wouldn't buy that with damage. It's likely the board is shot.
