You're considering a CPU upgrade from your current i5 3350p to an i5 6600k. It's important to check if your ASUS motherboard supports the newer processor model. If it doesn't, you may need additional components like a compatible power supply, cooling solution, or even a new motherboard that supports the 6600k. Beyond the CPU and RAM, you might also explore upgrading the storage drive type (SSD vs HDD) or adding more RAM to improve performance. Always verify compatibility before making changes.

3350p connects to port 1155, while 6600k uses port 1151, making them incompatible. You’d likely need a different motherboard with a 100 or 200 chipset, along with updated RAM and possibly a new cooling solution based on your existing setup.

Upgrade to a Ryzen 5 (1600AF) or 7 (1700) paired with a B450 motherboard from an A-brand, featuring two 8GB RAM modules. The speed boost will be remarkable compared to your current setup.

I’m not clear about your goals. If you need a board compatible with DDR4 and an i5-6600k, you’re mistaken. These processors use different chipsets and sockets. The 6600K uses LGA 1151, while the 3350P uses LGA 1155. The 3350P doesn’t support DDR4 or DDR3L, whereas the 6600K only supports DDR3L and DDR4. A board with LGA 1151 will work for the CPU, but make sure overclocking is enabled to get the best performance.

Glad to hear that! You should consider getting a motherboard with an LGA 1151 port and fresh RAM, especially since you already have DDR3 installed.

Order two identical sticks to complete a 2x8GB kit. For more details about the 6600K, check Intel's ARK page. Ensure you have a solid cooler running it—Arctic eSports Duo or Scythe Fuma 2 work well.
