Hello, I upgraded my 2600 to 3600X due to performance hiccups in PUBG with an ASUS 2060 Super Dual Evo OC and 8GB RAM. I was advised to use four 4GB sticks instead of two 8GB ones for better speed. However, I saw discussions online suggesting it's tough to run 4x4GB at 3200Mhz. My current board is the ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING, and I don’t intend to overclock the CPU. Just need the RAM to stay at 3200Mhz. Has anyone tried this with a 3600X?
2x8 offers the top results. The third-gen Ryzen isn't very fond of four sticks, so it might be selective—working and booting properly is possible. Also, the CPU only supports dual-channel, meaning you'll always use two sticks. Going with four won't add extra performance.
