Running Windows 10 Pro on an SSD with two HDDs, I was saving a photo by mistake. After trying to restore, it claims no previous version exists. I recall seeing mentions about system restore being active, but that feature is already turned on. Should I activate it on the HDDs to retain backups? Since nothing is saved to the SSD, what’s the best approach?

It's referred to as File History. You can find it in the start menu and set up its preferences.

The system safeguards might not be activated for the storage location of those files. Without it enabled, Windows can't generate earlier versions. Got it clarified!

History is saved, but I lack a donor drive for storage.

System protection is active on my drives and backups have been set up successfully. Perfect!
