Since I set up my desktop four years ago, it consistently displays this tiny white signal whenever I power on or off the caps, number, or scroll lock. Because my keyboard is tucked away in a drawer and I can’t see much of it, this is perfect since I’m unable to view the keyboard’s status. Over the past two years, I’ve tried three Samsung laptops, and each one features the same layout—Caps Lock shows an LED, but the Number Lock doesn’t. I’m looking for a way to add this simple indicator to my laptop screen so I can see it without disturbing others. Windows tends to turn off the number lock when the machine sleeps, so I need a method that works silently before I start using it. I’ve searched online, but every result suggests going into settings and enabling notifications, which usually just play a loud beep. I’m after something discreet on the screen. The only relevant info I found was about the Caps Lock indicator from cli.jonaskohl.de, but I didn’t want to download from an unknown site.

The on-screen keyboard will assist you by providing input options directly in front of you, helping you type without needing to switch away from your current task.

Therefore, I need this program active continuously (probably with Windows auto-starting so it doesn’t require manual activation). It should automatically recognize when I press Caps Lock or Number Lock. No one can explain why my desktop performs this behavior consistently since I first set it up and installed Windows. I’ve never configured anything to trigger it, and it’s been functioning this way ever since. Now I’m trying to copy the setup to another Windows machine.

No one knows the purpose of this box or why it was included with my Windows installation on my desktop.
