I just installed AM5 and my motherboard uses the standard 6-pin power connector, but it has an additional 4-pin port. My Corsair 750W motherboard doesn’t have that extra pin, which might be causing the boot issue. The orange light on the board indicates something is wrong. I’m using a 64GB RAM with dual 32GB modules at 6000MT/s.
It seems a BIOS update is necessary for the motherboard to back the CPU. The 4-pin setup provides extra CPU power, not the full 8-pin requirement.
Absolutely, I missed that earlier. I'll make sure to update my BIOS tomorrow.
You’re trying to flash firmware but aren’t seeing any progress. Check your steps: ensure the BIOS flash button is pressed during startup, verify the firmware file is correct and readable, confirm the USB drive has enough space, and try a different USB port if needed. If the light stays on, there might be a power or connection issue—test with another USB or power source.
It was my USB stick, I removed the CPU, flashed the BIOS, and then reinserted the CPU into the same case. The light is still on.
