The 12V 2A splitter will provide the same amount of current to both devices. It won't reduce the voltage for either one.

They use only the power they need, with nothing left over.

Voltage is drawn rather than generated, meaning as long as the power brick meets or exceeds 1, it's okay. However, adding two 2s equals three, so a 2A ups won't provide sufficient power for these two items.

The highlighted part explains that most connections provide enough outlets for each gadget separately. You might think you don’t need a splitter because voltage and current vary with series or parallel wiring.

On a 12V DC UPS they usually provide just one output since they’re built for individual devices. I own a compact wall-mount unit with a swappable 18650 LiPo battery, and there are also larger packs containing multiple cells—like the one I use for emergency LED strips. These can power devices for hours, whereas a standard inverter UPS might only run about ten minutes.
