Getting an i5-4690K and an EVGA/MSI GTX 1060 for Christmas, my top games are CSGO H1Z1 and Overwatch at 1280x1024. When I play those, I also use Overwatch at 1920x1080. I’m new to computer parts, so I want to know if the CPU and GPU are solid and future-proof.

OW – ensure at least 80 FPS on high settings. CS:GO seems to perform better. H1Z1 – just don’t play it, sorry.

Obtain the 480 model—it runs quicker than the 1060 and offers greater VRAM with an 8 GB option. It definitely supports smooth gameplay at 60 FPS.

I’d prefer the Skylake platform over Devils Canyon. For the best CPU, the 4790K works well. There’s still Kabylake support in the same socket. When it comes to graphics, it depends on your gaming style. If you prioritize frame rates before visuals, it’ll serve you longer. I’m okay with 560Ti on BF4, but BF1 would need a newer GPU. Usually, a GPU lasts about 2-3 years if you aim for medium-high settings and over 50 fps.
