Hey everyone! I'm still getting the hang of things. I wasn't sure if I should share this here or in the thread, but since it's about getting a cooler for my CPU, I thought I'd post it. I just bought an iBUYPOWER PC with the AMD Ryzen 5600X, 16GB DDR4 RAM, an RX 6600 XT graphics card, a 1TB HDD, and a Black NVMe SSD. I also swapped out the power supply. My main question is: does this case fit a Noctua NH-D15 or any other Noctua cooler?
Typically, fitting an NH-D15 requires a deep case and a motherboard that accommodates the first PCIe slot. Although it seems compatible because its depth matches a 4000D, it won't work with that particular board. The Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler fits well, but it won't function with the mentioned motherboard. This cooler offers excellent performance similar to an NH-D15 and is more affordable, making it a better choice for future upgrades to AM5 systems without compatibility issues.
Thank you for your feedback and the recommendation! I appreciate your support. I’m considering upgrading to a cooler with a Ryzen 7 chip, even though it’s quite affordable. Your opinion helps me decide. Thanks again!
Check if anyone else has suggestions for coolers. If not, I'll stick with the one recommended.
It can handle 5800X3D even on a stock cooler, though you might want to think about adding cooling. At its price point, Peerless Assassin seems to be the top choice so far.
I wouldn’t own it, but I’d consider getting one right now if I needed another tower cooler. GN gives a solid recommendation, which is quite impressive.
The 140mm size would match the NH-D15 closely, causing PCIe clearance problems. The motherboard must be positioned one PCIe slot apart, otherwise the first 16x slot won't fit with the cooler installed.
