I'm preparing drivers and installation files for a new Windows 10 setup on my X99 gaming rig. I'm trying to figure out which driver packages to download. The Asus site isn't very clear, so I'm checking their download page: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/X99DELU..._Download/.
Under the "chipset" section, should I install "chipset ver 10.1.2.8" and "MEI ver 11.0.0.1155", or both? And for the "sata" section, do I need "Asmedia SATA controller ver 3.1.6.0" and "IRST ver 14.5.0.1081", or both?
It's worth noting I have two SSDs installed, but they're running independently. The rest of the drivers seem straightforward. My motherboard is a Gigabyte model, and their download page is much more organized. The Asus page looks disorganized. Appreciate any guidance!
Almost matches your view. The bolded part refers to Intel Rapid Start Technology, not a driver. It's used for HDD software speed enhancement.
RST typically sets up a driver for the SATA controller. If the user intends to run standard AHCI without RAID, they should be okay. Sometimes boards label it as an unknown device in Device Manager even after installation, so results can differ. For example, iastorf.sys is an Intel RST driver.
