I’m focusing on removing standard texture filtering to achieve a sharp, PS1-style visual. Any suggestions?

You'd need to integrate it within the game engine, though this depends on the console's capabilities. Another possibility is attempting to capture and insert API instructions, which is outside my current understanding.

Lower all adjustments to minimal levels or turn them off. Alternatively, purchase a PS1 or download an emulator.

Some games no longer allow software rendering, which is disappointing since CPU technology is improving. I think better-rendered content would have been possible sooner.
