You should consider the options carefully. Both games are strong contenders, but they cater to different tastes. Rise of the Tomb Raider offers an action-packed adventure with exploration and combat, while Dying Light focuses more on story-driven gameplay and co-op. Since you're budget-conscious, weighing your preferences will help you decide which one fits better.

I'll attempt to steer clear of daylight unless you particularly enjoyed Dead Island (few did).

@Castdeath97 I don't really connect with Dead Island much. The parkour and crafting aspects seem more appealing to me. @valdyrgramr Thanks for the details. I'm a bigger fan of uncharted than Tomb Raider, but the wait for the next one feels too long. That might make me more interested in Tomb Raider instead. Appreciate the info!

It's understandable I gave up on Dead Island after just a few hours; the game felt dull. Dying Light stands out to me as an exceptional title for 2015, and I believe it's truly outstanding. The game seems to surpass expectations. It appears The Following has elevated the experience even further. If you're unsure, The Rise of the Tomb Raider isn't far off if it delivers on the promise of its predecessor. Ultimately, it depends on your preferred genre. The Steam Easter Sale is approaching, which might lower prices slightly for both titles, though Dying Light may drop sooner since its core release was over a year ago. Tomb Raider launched recently for PC, making direct comparisons challenging. It's possible the same developers are behind these projects, but I found Dead Island unengaging.

I really disliked Dead Island but I’m enjoying dying light for some reason. I think it’s just the parkour system, it reminds me of playing Mirrors Edge, I can’t wait for Catalyst. I really need that game soon—it looks amazing. I only managed to play it briefly at Gamescom. Dying Light is a solid DLC, though I wouldn’t fully appreciate it until you’ve completed the main game first. The map size matches Harran’s, and it includes vehicles, adding more loot as you upgrade your car. I find Dying Light especially great in Nightmare mode—it’s tough but rewarding, and you mostly need a headshot to survive.

I gave up on both Dead Island and Dying Light after roughly five hours of monotony. Yet I remain intrigued by the enhanced edition. Maybe it’ll be available during a mega-sale.

These two games are really great... they're actually my top two PC titles so far, including GTA 5. I’d say Tomb Raider is the better one overall, but it’s shorter. You should also be able to locate Dying Light at a reasonable price.

Nice! I appreciate the feedback. I'll keep an eye out for the Easter sale and consider adding Dying Light to my list too. Tomb Raider is decent so far, but I wonder if my neighbors might feel a bit annoyed by the constant Laura moaning.
