Hello everyone, I’m reaching out for some guidance on this setup. I recently put together a new system with an AsRock Taichi X870E Lite motherboard and a Ryzen 9800X3D processor. The configuration includes two 16GB DDR5 6400 Kingston Fury Beast RAM sticks (model KF564C32BBEK2-32) and a 1TB Crucial T700 SSD (CT1000T700SSD3) running Windows 11. I’m currently awaiting a new GPU, but I managed to locate one locally in my area. In the meantime, I’ve been using an old EVGA 3070 XC3 OC, which has worked perfectly for three years. The setup features two monitors—a 24-inch display at 24Hz and a 32-inch LG monitor at 180Hz—plus a 4K TV connected via HDMI. While checking temperatures with HWInfo, I observed that both the "PCH TSI0" and "SMBus TS0" sensors are registering the same high temperature as the CPU. These readings have climbed up to 70°C, and during Cinebench R23 benchmarks, both the CPU and these sensors hit 80°C. I understand this can be normal for the CPU, but I’m worried about the sensor temperatures. Is it typical for these components to reach such heat? Any suggestions or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance!
The PCH heating trend is common among modern Gen 4 PCIe-based cards. Most boards I've observed show comparable temperatures, which isn't a major issue.
I understand... that makes sense. Coming from Intel 11700k, I used to see much higher temperatures on the PCH with it, around 50°C max. Now I see a big difference in how AMD processors and their PCH chips behave—same temps as the CPU. That was confusing at first, but now I get it. Thanks for confirming so I can rest peacefully tonight.
