I might have gotten Doom 3 before purchasing it on Steam. I enjoy the game and intend to buy it tomorrow after it went on sale. Can I easily move my save file to the Steam version? There’s a dedicated folder named "savegames" inside the Doom 3 directory, which should make copying straightforward. Have others experienced any issues with this process before?
When I hjave done this it didnt work, try backing up the folder and using that where steam would normally save it is your best bet, the other thing is who knows what version you "aquired" if its not the steam one though there is a good chance issues will come up.
varies by game update. Certain older versions aren't available on Steam, and vice versa. Some Steam versions are remastered, which can affect compatibility. If the versions match, it shouldn't cause issues. Steamcloud likely won't handle those saved games either.
In the worst scenario, you can rely on console cheat codes to return to your previous position and continue from there. Thank you to the developers for adding them.
Honor to Lord Carmack. May he one day grasp the light and resume his work in remarkable game engine development.
