I've checked numerous sources but found no official Nvidia kernel or drivers for Linux Ubuntu. Some users reported installing it on a Shield Android TV and viewing media via a browser with an external mouse or keyboard.

I don't think any Ubuntu version is available for ARM outside of servers built on those processors.

It operates on Android; you might locate a tailored ROM suited for your preferences, though you won’t be adding Ubuntu.

I successfully set up Ubuntu on a Tegra 3 running Android, but installing it on Shield isn’t working. The issue might be related to compatibility or permissions.

Yes, it's feasible. Using Linux ARM drivers for the Jetson TX1 with an Ubuntu ARM image can work if you combine various components. You'll need to integrate the drivers into your Ubuntu kernel and build a custom initrd. It won't be simple, but it's achievable.

Sure, you can run a Linux distribution like Ubuntu on a Raspberry Pi. It’s a great way to avoid using the Shield’s Android. Just make sure you set up the network and power correctly so it stays online for streaming.
