Hello, I'm working on assembling a PC and initially couldn't turn it on. After inspecting the cables, I realized the motherboard I have (Asus Rog Strix X570-E) uses a 12-pin CPU connector instead of the usual 4 or 8. This might be the reason it's not powering up. Please let me know if you need any guidance. Thank you!

Your device supports an 8-pin connector and delivers up to 384 watts of power. Could you share more details about your specifications?

You might attempt it, but it shouldn’t work. The 3700X functions smoothly with an 8-pin connector, even though a 4-pin version exists.

The extra 4 pin is not needed, so that can't be the culprit. What do you mean 'nothing happened'? No lights, beeps, fan startup, etc.? Are you sure the PSU is turned on? Can you try to start the system by shorting the motherboard pwr button pins with a screwdriver?

No, the additional 4-pin isn't needed. The RGB LED on that ROG logo should be active even when the system is in standby mode, or at least that's what it looks like on my Strix Z390 board. Have you verified that the 24-pin and other cables are securely connected on both the motherboard and the PSU side, and that the PSU is powered on and connected to the wall?

You're saying there was nothing done and no fans activated. I'll attempt it now; I just need to locate the issue.

Hello, thank you all for your kind words. I made some adjustments to the front panel and the 24-pin connector, and it worked. I might have been a bit careless. I've also attached a photo of my setup with everything powered on.

What is the Q code LED showing? (bottom left) Good job, one fan isn't wired up to spin though.

The vertical mount obstructed the fan, but I resolved the issue so it’s now rotating
