I've noticed several online stores offering intel chips with updates, and I checked the same about AMD but mostly got negative feedback. I'm curious if it's feasible to move my 3rd gen Ryzen mobile to a 4th gen one. Since my R7-3750H uses 12nm and the 4800h is 7nm, it doesn't seem very likely.

It's not possible to solder a BGA CPU, as this design isn't compatible with Intel mobile chips.

They're suggesting a CPU upgrade isn't feasible with Intel or AMD. The information implies it's a misconception, since mobile CPUs are permanently attached to the device.
