Hello everyone, I just installed an extra 16GB of 3200MHz RAM, bringing my total to 32GB all at once. However, Windows Task Manager, BIOS, and CPU-z indicate I'm not seeing the full speed. My BIOS also blocks running XMP mode, causing crashes and forcing me back to older settings. The RAM I originally had was Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8) 16GB at 3200MHz, and I upgraded to Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x8) 16GB at the same speed. I'm questioning whether this was a mistake—should I have chosen more LPX instead of the RGB? The MHz and latency values match, so it seems the issue lies elsewhere. My system specs include: Core i7-9700K MSI z370 SLI Plus Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8) 16GB 3200MHz, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x8) 16GB 3200MHz, and RTX 2070 Super FTW3. If anyone has suggestions on resolving this, please share. I still have time to return and can swap in the original RAM if needed. Thanks!

The only idea that comes to mind is the system is attempting to stay secure because you have two distinct RAM modules. That’s the only thought I have

Consider configuring an XMP profile first, then adjust the DRAM voltage manually—start with 1.45V and test 1.4V if needed. The standard default is 1.35V.

Avoid mixing RAM sticks, even when initial timing matches; secondary or tetriary timings differ, causing stability issues regardless of profile height.

Thanks for the feedback! I removed the RGB memory and tested with just the LPX RAM, enabled XMP, and set the speed to 3200MHz. It’s functioning properly now. Task Manager shows the RAM at that frequency. I’ll bring back the RGB RAM and swap it in. Appreciate the guidance!
