I purchased a used CPU on eBay and it functions adequately unless I attempt network-dependent applications. Then the apps either crash or fail to connect, such as Steam showing queued downloads but not installing them due to connectivity problems. Discord also doesn't work properly, even causing browser crashes. The PC exhibits strange behavior when using this unit, and I'm almost certain it's the CPU issue since a working unit is available nearby. I've tried fresh installations of Windows 10 and 11, resetting BIOS via settings and CMOS, and updating the system, but nothing has resolved the problem.

The CPU isn't involved in networking directly. The only component likely causing problems would be the IO section that interacts with the network interface, such as a faulty PCIe lane connection with the chipset. Have you observed any other issues with connected devices? Have you experimented by switching from Ethernet to WiFi (or vice versa) or installing a USB or PCIe networking device and checking if the same issue arises?

Have you checked for BIOS updates? Is the new chip recognized as working with your motherboard? Networking isn’t running on the CPU at all—possibly a faulty PCIe or chipset connection could be the problem, but it seems like this would cause many more issues than just networking. Confirm the BIOS is up to date and verify the CPU compatibility with your motherboard.

Z370 made adjustments, tested all options, but the issue remained unresolved until the CPU was changed.

And still nothing resolved, except switching the CPU.

We offer a variety of CPUs. Let me know if you need details about any specific model!
