Hey everyone, I just upgraded my PC parts: AMD Ryzen 5700G with an ASUS B550M-PLUS TUF Gaming motherboard. It will handle everyday tasks, some heavy CPU work, and light gaming. My old RAM was a Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz CL14 unit. I know they don’t match, but on my previous system they worked well at that speed, which was the top speed for an older i5-6600. I’ve read that higher speeds help RAM perform better. I tried setting them to 2666Mhz with voltages around 1.2v and everything booted up fine. Free memory tests passed, and games ran smoothly. I haven’t pushed it to 3200Mhz yet, but I’m not testing it now. What tools do you use to check RAM stability? Also, another thought: if I buy new sticks, would a 3600Mhz CL16 be safe on this CPU without risking damage from high voltage? I want to preserve its lifespan and avoid any issues. Should I go for 3200Mhz or stick with 3200Mhz CL16? What’s the best choice? And one more question—would a 3600Mhz CL16 still work reliably on this CPU, especially since it’s outside the official specs? I don’t want any performance drops or long-term damage. It's accurate that Ryzen CPUs gain significant performance from quicker RAM, but the gap isn't large enough to warrant a complete upgrade. Most XMP settings on high-speed kits will still be too loose, making the actual improvement noticeable compared to manual testing if you dedicate time (hours). RAM Test by Karhu Software is likely one of the top RAM checkers, though it requires payment. Since it supports AVX2 and all CPU cores, it can be up to 10 to 20 times faster than Memtest. For a 64GB RAM setup, Memtest might take over two hours for a single pass, while RAM Test finishes in just 15 minutes. Another drawback is that Memtest can run from USB, whereas RAM Test is limited to Windows.

Review the thaiphoon burner for ICS and share a screenshot. The 3200 setting is reasonable given most ICS support up to 3200 CL16, even on lower-end 8GbMHz models.

Great advice! 3200 CL16 could work well, but I prefer keeping things balanced. Running it at its rated Ryzen performance would be ideal.

Impressed it actually functions, try p95 large FFTs or tm5. If it stays steady, stick with 3200—likely the peak point, particularly with cursed tri rank setup xD

Checked the unit at 3200 at 16-18-18-36 with 1.35V for two hours (three cycles of TestMem5) and enjoyed playing GTA V. It looks okay so far.
