Checking the official specs for the Tomahawk SN850X confirms that only the 4TB version is listed as supported. The 2TB model isn’t available, so it’s likely not compatible with this board. Manufacturers usually update compatibility over time, but the current documentation sticks to these specifications.

They only checked a few random SSD models. The board should function with any SATA or M.2 (NVMe) SSD.

motherboards prety much always work with any brand or capacity of storage so long as there is a slot for you to plug it into, the SN850x 2TB should work fine with that motherboard.

I've only noticed problems in a few cases involving RAM. I've never encountered any issues with an SSD.

Yes, your setup seems to work. The RAM you have is listed under certain boards, and it appears compatible with your current Gigabyte B450 board. However, when checking the MSI X570 board, it only shows your CPU as compatible but not your RAM. This suggests that while the components can technically connect, there might be a mismatch in how they're registered or supported on those systems. It’s worth double-checking the exact model numbers and ensuring all parts are correctly matched for your specific configuration.

The RAM fits the motherboard, but the Ryzen 2000 sometimes struggles with the CPU's memory controller when using high-speed RAM kits. This issue has improved in later Ryzen models, which is why the 3600 kit is recommended for Ryzen 5000 systems. If it functions on your current setup, it should also work with a new motherboard. Nevertheless, they might still choose not to support the 3600 configuration. As an alternative, you can lower the RAM speed—either by disabling XMP or manually reducing the speed while keeping the timings unchanged.
