I'm using an AMD FX 6350 and considering an upgrade because it's having trouble with newer games. I'm currently running a N68-GS4 FX R2.0, and I have a GTX 1050ti which is performing well so far. I'm unsure what other CPUs would work with this board. If you know of any compatible options, please share them or let me know if I should upgrade my motherboard.

The only noticeable improvement would be something like an FX 8350, but given the age of the CPU, it likely won’t provide much advantage in the games you play. The motherboard lacks a VRM heat sink, making it unsuitable to increase core count on a very power-hungry system.

If you need better performance, switch to another platform. Be aware that using AMD might lead to safety issues.

It wouldn't make sense to use top-of-the-line FX chips on that board, as the performance would remain poor.
