An image backup is a precise duplicate of your complete operating system as it exists right now. This includes settings, applications, files, documents, and more. If you have valuable information you wish to preserve and can revert to its previous state, an image backup becomes essential. Without one, a missing backup could result in data loss during repair, forcing the device to be wiped clean. You can utilize Windows backup features or software like Macrium Reflect to generate an image on an external drive. If you’re confident no critical programs or data are at stake, you might proceed with a return shipment without a backup, understanding the machine will be restored to its original condition upon arrival and all personal files will be erased.

It was sent to HP for repair within the warranty period. They classified it as a “windows error” or software issue, but they would have liked a GPU replacement.
