Windows 11 introduces Direct Storage to boost performance, and your setup looks suitable. With an MX150 GPU and an M.2 SSD, you should be able to use Direct Storage without needing a NVMe SSD. Just confirm during installation that it's enabled.

It suggests the drive operates at SATA speeds and is compatible with M.2 form factors. This doesn’t necessarily limit performance; upgrading to a W11 might improve speed further, but your gaming experience should remain similar if the core speed remains unchanged.

Absolutely, there’s a lot of mixed information out there. Until Microsoft provides clear details, we can’t confirm if your laptop will work with the feature. Still, you probably won’t see much change in your gaming experience with DirectStorage. Windows 11 might have some internal tweaks that could affect performance, but it’s too soon to say for sure. Try not to worry too much right now.
